Analytics#
The Analytics page in the dashboard shows what is calling your keys: how many requests, from which websites, which endpoints and languages, how many errors and how much came from cache, over the last 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days. Every figure carries its change against the period before, and every chart has a table view.
What Is Recorded#
For every request made with a key of your account (browser-safe keys included) we add one to an hourly counter for the combination of:
- The key that made it (the account key, or which browser-safe key).
- The endpoint: search, download, quote, translate, sync, transcribe, fix, batch, extract, sources or usage.
-
The calling origin: the host of the
Originheader, else ofReferer, such asplayer.example.com. A call that sent neither (a backend, a plugin, a script) is counted as server. We keep the host only, never the page address, the query string, or the IP address. - The status class of the answer (2xx, 3xx, 4xx or 5xx) and whether it came from cache.
- The requested language code, when the request named one.
-
How many requests it was charged (the
X-Wyzie-Costheader).
Nothing per request is stored: no IP address, no user agent, no file or title id, no URL. A key counts at most 50 distinct hosts and 20 distinct languages per hour; anything past that is other.
Retention#
Hourly counters are kept for 90 days and daily totals for 400 days. Hours are shown in your time zone; the 30 and 90 day views use UTC days.
In the API#
The same data is behind GET /usage for a single key (per day, by route and source). The dashboard view is per account and includes origins, errors and cache rate.
